Our angus cattle operation finds its roots in a single angus bull bought by Eugene Wilson in the early 1970's. After his sons were grown and unable to help with milking his dairy cows, Eugene switched his farming focus to beef cattle. His angus bull bred to his Holstein cows led to the beef cattle herd that we still farm 50 years later. Our black angus beef cattle are fed hay from the same fields used back then and they graze on the same pastures.

Angus Cattle Sales

The way our farm has operated for decades is to breed black angus cattle. When calves are born, we leave them in the pasture with their mother until they reach 6 months old. We then sell the calves at a local livestock auction. We have sold some calves to other local farms. If you're interested in purchasing black angus calves from our herd, contact us to discuss what we currently have available for purchase.

Angus Beef Sales

Since 2019 our farm has been selling the same quality black angus beef that our family has enjoyed for decades. When we have beef available for purchase, our customers have the opportunity to purchase a Quarter, Half, or Whole side of beef. We sell them based on the hanging weight of the beef. When we have unsold sides of beef we offer them for sale as individual pieces or as part of a package. If you're interested in purchasing a side of beef contact us through our Facebook Page, via email, or call/text. We'll be glad to help you reserve your order from one of our upcoming beefs. Our price lists can be found below. Free delivery of a beef order is limited to 25 miles from our farm.

USDA Grass-Fed Certification

For beef in the US to be labeled and marketed as grass-fed there are certain requirements that must be met. For starters, from the time a calf is born until it is processed for beef it must only consume it's mother's milk and grass. Hay fed during the winter is forage grasses and are used to maintain cattle during the winter. Some farmers and ranchers will raise their cattle on grass but finish them on grain. This gives them a period of time to bulk up on grain before being processed. To be grass-fed certified by the USDA, cattle must not be finished on anything other than grass. DC Farms has gone through the process to be a certified grass-fed beef operation. This only validates what our family farm has done since 1903 when it comes to raising cattle. We provide our cattle with clean water, quality hay, and plenty of green grass. Nothing else. Nothing extra. Just like God intended!
